History & atmosphere
Bellagio opened in 1998 at the initiative of Steve Wynn and instantly set a new standard of luxury on the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel is inspired by an Italian town on Lake Como, and in front of it lies an artificial lake where the famous fountains soar into the air to music every half hour — a free show that draws thousands of spectators. Inside, guests are greeted by the Fiori di Como ceiling made of more than two thousand glass flowers by Dale Chihuly, and a lavish botanical conservatory whose decor changes with the seasons. The casino is renowned for the prestigious Bobby's Room, where the highest stakes in the city are played, as well as an elegant baccarat salon. The cult film "Ocean's Eleven" was filmed here. Beyond gaming, Bellagio is famous for its gallery of fine art, the water-based Cirque du Soleil show "O" and a collection of Michelin-starred restaurants. It is a symbol of mature, refined Vegas.
