History & atmosphere
Encore Boston Harbor opened in the summer of 2019 on the banks of the Mystic River in Everett, right next to Boston, and cost Wynn Resorts roughly 2.6 billion dollars — the most expensive single private project in the history of Massachusetts. The signature golden tower in Wynn's trademark style became a new landmark of the northern Boston skyline. The resort was built on a former industrial site that was carefully cleaned up and turned into a landscaped waterfront with a promenade along the water. The interiors are done in Steve Wynn's recognizable luxury: floral installations, crystal chandeliers, marble and an abundance of light. The gaming floor offers thousands of slot machines, hundreds of tables and a poker room, while guests enjoy more than 670 rooms, a spa, designer boutiques and fine-dining restaurants. Encore quickly became the leading gambling address of New England and an example of how the Wynn brand brings Vegas luxury to the East Coast.
