History & atmosphere
Hard Rock Atlantic City opened its doors in the summer of 2018 on the site of the Trump Taj Mahal, which had closed a year earlier — once the most luxurious casino in the city. Hard Rock International invested hundreds of millions in the renovation, turning the somewhat gloomy palace into a vibrant music resort with its signature collection of rock relics: guitars, costumes and stars' memorabilia adorn the interiors. The resort stands right on the famous Boardwalk and bets on live concerts — it has two venues, Hard Rock Live and Sound Waves, where world artists perform regularly. The gaming floor offers thousands of slot machines, dozens of tables and a separate poker room. Guests enjoy more than 1,900 rooms, the Hard Rock Cafe and Council Oak restaurants, and an extensive poolside area. The opening became a symbol of Atlantic City's revival after the crisis and one of the loudest launches of the decade on the East Coast.
