History & atmosphere
MGM Cotai is the youngest of Cotai's flagship resorts, opened in 2018 as MGM's second project in Macau. The building of "stacked" multicolored blocks resembling jewelry boxes has become a prominent landmark of the district. The heart of the resort is the Spectacle, an indoor atrium plaza with a record-setting free-span glass roof, housing one of the world's largest permanent arrays of LED screens and a living collection of rare plants. Immersive digital art installations are held here regularly. MGM Cotai has bet on technology: helper robots, "smart" gaming tables and the integration of art into the gaming experience. The casino offers a full range of Asian and Western games with an emphasis on baccarat and the premium VIP segment. The resort's collection includes rare Chinese dynastic carpets and works by contemporary artists. MGM Cotai positions itself as a new-generation art resort combining gambling, design and digital art.
