History & atmosphere
Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa is the flagship resort of Florida's Seminole Tribe, which in 2007 bought the entire Hard Rock brand and became the owner of the worldwide chain. The casino opened in 2004 and operates around the clock, offering one of the largest gaming floors in the southeastern United States: thousands of slot machines, dozens of tables and a famous poker room that hosts major tournaments. As befits Hard Rock, the interiors are hung with music memorabilia, and the entertainment programme never falls silent by day or night. The resort includes hotel towers with hundreds of rooms, a luxurious lagoon pool, the Rock Spa, numerous restaurants and the Hard Rock Event Center concert hall. In 2019, next to the sister hotel in Hollywood, Florida, the Seminoles built the famous "guitar" tower, but Tampa too remains a powerful magnet for visitors from across the state. It is a vivid example of how Native American gaming grew into a global entertainment industry.
