History & atmosphere
Wynn Las Vegas opened in 2005 as Steve Wynn's personal project after he sold Bellagio and Mirage. The hotel set a new level of refinement: instead of blaring neon signs, a curved bronze façade, gardens, floral carpets and an abundance of natural light. Rather than a public frontage show, Wynn hid the main attraction inside: the Lake of Dreams, a lake at the foot of a man-made mountain where a hypnotic display of water, light and projections unfolds each evening. The casino caters to an affluent clientele, with one of the city's most prestigious poker rooms and baccarat salons. Wynn and the adjacent Encore tower consistently earn the highest marks for service, a collection of luxury-brand boutiques, a spa and fine-dining restaurants. It is the address for those seeking quiet luxury and impeccable taste away from the Vegas bustle, yet in the very heart of the Strip.
