The sector is handled by the National Gaming Commission (CONAJZAR), which since 2025 sits within the National Directorate of Tax Revenue (DNIT). Permitted verticals include land-based casinos, lotteries, bingo, quiniela, sports betting and online casinos; up to three concessionaires are allowed per vertical, selected through public tenders. Online sports betting is still run by a single concessionaire under a contract valid until 2028, while new tenders are being discussed by the regulator. The currency is the Paraguayan guarani; cards, bank transfers and local payment services are used. Sites without a concession are blocked.
