MGM Grand — casino in Las Vegas

MGM Grand opened in 1993 and at launch was the largest hotel in the world — more than six thousand rooms. Its symbol, the recognizable golden lion several stories tall, references the legendary Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio and its roaring mascot. The gaming floor is one of the largest on the Strip, with endless rows of slot machines, high-limit rooms and a lively poker room. MGM Grand has long been a capital of entertainment: it hosts high-profile boxing matches and UFC fights at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the Cirque du Soleil show "KÀ", and dining by famous chefs including Joël Robuchon. The complex features a huge pool park with a lazy river and the Hakkasan nightclub. The hotel once even had a park with lions behind glass. It is the embodiment of Vegas scale, where gambling, sport and show merge into one.
