Gambling is prohibited in Mongolia and there are no legal casinos. On 26 March 2025 the State Great Khural passed amendments to the Law on Licensing that fully ban paid prediction games, betting and online gambling, including organising them in public places or online, plus advertising and player solicitation. Running such games became a criminal offence: the penalties are heavy fines, 240 to 720 hours of community service, restriction of liberty, or six months to three years in prison; separate liability was introduced for providing accounts used for gambling settlements. Tax provisions governing such operators' revenue and equipment were repealed at the same time. The Communications Regulatory Commission restricts access to gambling domains and apps are removed from stores. The currency is the Mongolian tugrik. There are no legal operators, and playing carries criminal-law risk.
